Immigrants keep New York City moving.
We keep our neighborhoods alive by keeping small businesses open. We work long hours for low pay, often without the employment protections that US-born workers take for granted. We have been doing the essential work that keeps New York City running through the COVID crisis, but we are forgotten by the politicians who claim to speak for us.
For many of us, pandemic assistance either took months to reach us, or help never came.
So now we are building a movement to help each other, speak for ourselves – and make city government work for us.
